Our Trip to Sanibel

I am so thankful to have the summer off! We started the summer off right with a trip to Sanibel Island. This was our first vacation as a family. It's amazing how much stuff you need to bring with you for just one little girl.

This was the first evening we were there. You can see Maddie was enjoying the tide pools.

This was taken in the morning. We went down and saw the Lighthouse.

Madelynn was hard at work on the beach.

Running into the water. Just look at how smooth the water is...

Spending some quality time with Daddy.

So many shells to choose from...

I think it's time for a mud bath. Maddie loved the feel of the wet sand. She really liked to smear it on our legs.
In the morning, you always found mounds of shells that just came up to the shore.
Patrick snapped this shot on our way out to the beach our last morning there. It was so peaceful that morning.
We had such a relaxing few days. It's hard to compare to our beaches at home but Sanibel definitely holds its own. The best features were the calm waters that Maddie could walk in and out of on her own and of course the beautiful shells that littered the sand.
